Free Net Salary Calculator
Calculate your take-home pay from gross salary. Includes tax brackets and social contributions. 100% in your browser.
How It Works
Enter your annual gross salary (RAL), number of pay periods, and estimated regional and municipal tax rates. The calculator applies Italian IRPEF 2026 brackets (23% up to 28K, 35% from 28K to 50K, 43% above 50K), deducts INPS social contributions at 9.19%, and subtracts regional and municipal surcharges. You get net annual, net monthly, and effective tax rate — all computed instantly in your browser.
When to Use It
- Evaluating a job offer by converting the gross salary figure into actual take-home pay you can budget with.
- Comparing salaries across Italian regions where regional and municipal tax rates differ significantly.
- Planning annual finances and understanding how much of your gross salary goes to taxes and social contributions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the IRPEF brackets up to date?
Yes. The calculator uses the 2026 IRPEF brackets: 23% up to 28,000, 35% from 28,001 to 50,000, and 43% above 50,000. These reflect the latest Italian tax reform simplification from four to three brackets.
Does it work for freelancers or partita IVA?
This calculator is designed for employees (lavoratori dipendenti) with INPS at 9.19%. Freelancers on partita IVA have different contribution rates (typically 25-26% to INPS Gestione Separata) and may qualify for the flat tax regime (regime forfettario) at 15% or 5%.
Why does the regional tax rate matter?
Italian regional surcharges range from 1.23% (Bolzano) to over 3.33% (Lazio). Combined with municipal taxes (0.5-0.9%), the difference can mean hundreds of euros per year in take-home pay between regions.
